📝 Process = Freedom

When we start our businesses, we are one deal away from a breakthrough and one road bump away from disaster. As the founder, the business relies heavily on us for everything. This often means that if we go down for the count, then the business doesn’t run. But this also means that until we get the processes out of our head and documented, we are limiting our ability to grow and scale; and this is where most entrepreneurs get stuck. The business cannot scale if it is reliant on the esoteric knowledge of the entrepreneur or the hiring of A+ Players. Simply put, we do not have those kinds of resources, and we definitely don't have time to waste on bad hires - especially when we are running the business at its leanest stage financially. From the day we launch our business, we have to run the company as if one day it won't need us. Three things we can think about are 1.) Accuracy before speed, 2.) Getting in the Right Seat, and 3.) Scale.

🤔Why Not You? A Few Words on Excuses

In recent years, you may have come across a trending article or social media post that lays out the common regrets people often carry to their graves. As it relates to regrets, our quest as an organization led me to consider recently...“What are the reasons for which people who want to start businesses, never do so?”Naturally, I found myself enlisting the services of Google to answer that question, and it was in a 2015 article from Inc. Magazine titled “13 Poor Excuses for Not Starting Your Own Business” that I found a few reasons to share and if necessary, refute for your sake.

💍Husband & Wife Run Businesses An Asset or a Liability?

My husband and I never started out hoping to get into business with each other. In fact, the opposite is true. Early on in our marriage, I even had reservations about letting my hubby start his own business. I craved certainty and being along of a bumpy ride of biz-startup turbulence was a stress I could do without.

Snap forward 10 years to find us working side-by-side in most of our endeavors. Through years of trial and error, we have learned how to use our differences as strengths and how to maintain the balance of life, work, marriage, & love.
