Saudi Arabia Says Goodbye to the Petro-Dollar
Petrodollars are U.S. dollars paid to an oil-exporting country.
Petrodollars are the primary source of revenue for many OPEC members and other oil exporters.
Oil exporters settle sales in U.S. dollars because the dollar is the most widely used currency, making it easier for them to invest in export proceeds.
Some crude exporters implicated in human rights violations have suggested they may accept payment in other currencies.
BRAND DAMAGE
The Internet is STILL Undefeated
Senator Chuck Schumer found out Sunday that in even in an election year the internet is still undefeated at capturing our best and our worst and archiving it never to be forgotten.
What does this have to do with our businesses?
Simply put, a brand positioned in being genuine doesn’t have to worry about the same things as one that is simply projecting to be be accepted or seem relevant.
Schumer attempted in his Father’s Day post to jockey for relatability but quickly found out that people can’t relate to someone putting cheese on an uncooked burger.
And no this was not an edited post or done intentionally.
Chuck Schumer deleted this post so I’m going to share it again here, enjoy!

Little details like that matter with your brand, and in the Senator’s case will lead people to clowning you online when your brand is built on being intelligent, mistake-free, and arguing publicly on issues of right and wrong, with you generally positioning as the former.
The Senator deleted the post after the razzing and ratio reached astronomical heights.
Here are just a few of the replies from people on X…

Schumer would have benefited from not deleting the post.
Whether you are a politician, a plumber, or product marketer, etc.
There is room for mistakes.
There is room for crappy posts and bad attempts at marketing.
Simply put, there is room for being a human. Even as a brand.
Just don’t pick and choose when you want to be one.
Stay consistent and your brand will be stronger in the end.
