Brand Damage: Who's crushing it. Who's not. And a thought on brand.
Who's crushing it: Vivek Ramaswamy
If you are someone with a pulse on the U.S. political scene you've likely noticed the 'outta nowhere' emergence of Mr. Ramaswamy.
Or for those more inclinded to struggle with his last name, Vivek.
With the exception of RFK Jr. no presidential candidate has been more refreshing to hear from this election season.
The 37-year old entrepreneur turned politician is also a husband, father, and the first millennial candidate for the nation's highest office on the Republican side.
His brand is rolling with a message that is bypassing partisan issues, choosing instead to focus on a common sense, multigenerational, pro-America vision that is resonating with both Republicans and Democrats.
Consider this.
According to Rasmussen Reports he is polling favorably with 36% of Democrats, 43% of unaffiliated, and 47% of Republicans!
Not bad for your first year in politics, given our country's current divide.
Who's not: Mike Pence
Unlike Vivek, things are not looking up for former Vice-President Mike Pence.
Since the conclusion of the 2020 election, the Pence political brand took a lot of damage among conservatives and Republicans.
That said, the final nail may have come at the least desired time...at a Republican summit sitting across from ultra-popular Tucker Carlson.
Brand Damage or brand health will always boil down to the choices, actions, and words of a business or person.
In the clip below, the moment got the better of Mr. Pence.
Pain To Profits Entrepreneurs, take notes.
A thought on brand:
As a brand, say what you mean.
And mean what you say.
Operate in a way that is most true to your highest ideals as a business.
Your consumers will love you.
And your critics and competitors will at least respect you.(DB)
